Italy or Repubblica Italiana or Italia is the most popular tourist destination in Southern Europe. It is a peninsula extending into the central Mediterranean Sea, northeast of Tunisia. The peninsula looks like boot thus Italy is nicknamed as “Boot”.
Italy shares its northern alpine boundary with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The independent countries of San Marino and the Vatican City are located within the Italian territory.
